Pubs in Bracknell are already experiencing a busy Christmas period, with many agreeing that winter trading has been good this season.

Gemma Suppa at The Boot Italian Gastropub, which her son Gianluca and ex-husband Giovanni own, said that their pub is completely rammed for the Christmas period.

“From the eighth of December we have an Elton John night,” she said. “And that will be full, and from then on we will be rammed.”

Gemma Suppa said that The Boot is completely booked for Christmas day, and even though they are only open from 12 pm to 4 pm, they will have over one hundred customers.

“Christmas Eve is also looking pretty full,” she said. “It’s like a Friday night every night in December. It’s going to be great fun, it makes work fun!”

Similarly to the other pubs in the area, The Manager of Market Inn Mr Sebastian Polanec said that their pub is pretty lively over the Christmas period.

“It got pretty busy after Remembrance Sunday back in November, and Christmas is always a time when we get a lot of people coming in,” he said.

Market Inn hosts a whole range of groups over Christmas. “We have loads of bookings,” Mr Polanec said. “Mainly companies come to us for staff Christmas parties.

“We hope that it will continue to be good business for the rest of December.”

Shift Leader at Peacock Farm Josh Lewis said that their pub has quite a few bookings over the Christmas period and is currently fully booked for Christmas day.

“We have quite a few bookings over Christmas, we start taking them on December 1,” he said. “After December 24 as well we will expect a few late Christmas dinners in January.”

Mr Lewis also said that as they are a part of a managed house, a company that has been running since 1777, other branches can help them out if business drops.

He said: “In wintertime, some businesses do struggle for money so you may see some drop a bit. It may be independent pubs that suffer the most, but this doesn’t affect us.”
