The Bracknell Christmas Market is promised to be ‘bigger and better than ever’ this year as it takes over the town centre.

This comes after a turbulent few years when organisers were forced to scale back following the chaos of the Covid-19 restrictions.

On Thursday, November 16 the market was officially opened within the Lexicon offering shoppers a host of gastro delights and bespoke Christmas gifts amid the decorations.

The organisers of the market, Sasha and Bronson Smith have been running the event since 2018 following the regeneration of the town centre and creation of the Lexicon.

They said that after having to cancel the market during lockdown in 2021, Bracknell Forest Council has helped them navigate the regrowth of the Christmas event in 2022 and 2023.

Sasha said: “We started this at the age of 23 and 24 after a few years in Aldershot with the Community Together Group and were excited to see Bracknell’s new town centre so we could build it from the ground up.

“Throughout the years it’s gone from strength to strength and although Covid threw a wrench in the works we’re doing everything we can to make it bigger and better than ever.

“We’ve made a few changes over the years depending on what people have reacted well to and some of our independent businesses that came last year have come back which is always good to see.”

The Bracknell News visited the Market this week to experience all the delights of what is available this year.

Businesses including traditional German bratwurst, spice mulled wine and Yorkshire Pudding wraps were just some of the food stalls that had marketgoers excited.

Charlotte from the Bubble Boutique and Melted.co is at this year’s market offering shoppers her personalised tree decorations and homemade candles and wax melts.

Many of the services and products are made on-site and therefore can be ordered at point-of-sale.

Sasha added: “We are so excited to see everyone come out to the market as we move into December. The light switch on will see hundreds of people come into town to enjoy all that we offer.

“It’s so important to know that we are a family-run business and all of the businesses that we showcase are independent businesses from across the UK.

“People can expect lots of festive fun including the beautiful tree which will hopefully be put up this week right in the middle of town.”

The Lexicon Christmas Market was officially opened by the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Naheed Ejaz.

Visitors will be able to indulge in all the traditions until Christmas Eve.

The Lexicon has coordinated with Bracknell Forest Council and Sasha and Bronson to create the perfect place for some Christmas shopping and tasty treats.
