A charity event that sees hundreds of Santa's run through Bracknell’s Swinley Forest is set to return this Christmas.

On Sunday, December 10 at 10 am hundreds of Santa’s are expected to take a run, jog, or walk around the forest to support the local hospice.

The event is open to all ages and abilities and participants can choose to complete a 2K, 5K, or 10K running route throughout the forest.

Thames Hospice is hoping to raise money to support patients and their families this Christmas period and beyond.

Charity trustee, Bruce Montgomery is one of the many people taking part in the dash this year alongside his wife.

He said: “I am thrilled to be taking part in the Santa Dash. I’ve asked my family and friends not to buy me presents this year, but to sponsor me instead.

“It’ll be good to raise some much needed funds for the Hospice at a time of rising costs and more patients needing our help this Christmas and beyond. “My aim is to raise £2,000. My wife is walking with me so we are going to do it jointly.”

Participants are encouraged to either dress up in a Santa Suit or channel your inner creative side and design your own festive costume.

Emma Andrews, Events Fundraiser said: “Santa Dash is one of our favourite events of the year as we approach the festive season and get together with many people from our community. We encourage everyone taking part to set up their fundraisers and play their part in supporting families this December facing a life-limiting illness.”
