Residents across Bracknell and Ascot are raving about the ‘fantastic displays’ at this year’s ‘Fireworks Spectacular’ and celebrations at Ascot Racecourse.

The display, which was organised by both Ascot Racecourse and Star Fireworks, had thousands of people brave the cold on Saturday, November 4 following a day of jumps racing.

The Ascot Racecourse fireworks are considered one of the region’s largest fireworks displays, launching over 20,000 fireworks from the centre of the racecourse.

Families who attended the fireworks spectacular applauded the Racecourse for the view and the facilities offered on the night.

One excited resident said: “Fantastic event. It’s amazing to have the race course on our doorstep. And compared to the old days at Ascot United with our welly boots and waterproofs on, so much better. That was difficult to get out of!

“At the race course you have a good view, can have a hot drink, go to the loos and know everyone is safe.”

According to another event goer, the fireworks were ‘excellent and well worth seeing’.

Although many families had nothing but excellent comments to say about the pyro-musical show, some thought that the music which was played throughout was out of place compared to the exciting pyrotechnics.

Songs such as Barbie Girl and True Colours accompanied the fantastic light show.

Although Ascot’s fireworks spectacular was certainly one of the biggest events, smaller displays were seen across Bracknell Forest and East Berkshire throughout the weekend.

This included the display at Bracknell Rugby Club on Sunday, November 5.
