Hundreds are predicted to take to Wokingham town centre tonight for the annual fireworks and unique torch parade through the town.

The Wokingham Fireworks Extravaganza will be beginning today (November 4) from 5:30pm leading up to a pyrotechnic fireworks display choreographed to music in Wokingham’s Cantley Park.

A torchlight procession, led by St Sebastian’s Band, will take place from Wokingham Town Hall to Cantley Field where a fairground and food and drink outlets can be found.

The procession leaves at 6:15pm or for those wishing to go straight to the field, the gates open at 5:30pm.

Entry is by admission early and tickets must be bought before arrival at the gate.

Adults cost £8 and children seven and under £1.

Chair of the Wokingham Fireworks Charity, David Gold, said: “Despite inflation the tickets remain very reasonably priced.

"Thanks to the people of Wokingham’s support for this community event, all the money raised is donated to local charities and deserving causes.”

Charities being supported this year include First Days Children’s Charity, Wokingham In Need, Daisy’s Dream, Sue Ryder and Life Education Wessex & Thames Valley.
