FROM drink driving to speeding, here are some of Berkshire's drivers who have been in court recently for breaking the law:

A MAN has been disqualified from driving after being caught driving without third-party insurance.

John Quilligan, of Cooper Way, Slough, was caught on February 8 last year driving without insurance in Southall Middlesex.

The 46-year-old was caught driving a Ford Transit he was not properly insured to drive.

At Willesden Magistrates Court on September 27, he was found guilty and was disqualified from driving for six months.

Quilligan was also fined £120 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £100.

The total amount he needs to pay is £254 which will be paid £40 per month at a time.

A WOMAN has been given a community order after failing to provide a specimen for testing after being suspected of committing a crime.

Gladys Muriithi, of Landgale Gardens, Earley, was stopped by officers on August 8 this year and was asked to provide a specimen of breath.

However, the 48-year-old refused. At Reading Magistrates Court on August 22, she pleaded guilty.

She was given a community order to complete 12 days of mental health treatment and 15 days of rehabilitation activity.

Muriithi was also disqualified from driving for 16 months and fined £100. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.

A MAN has been disqualified from driving after being caught exceeding the speed limit.

Nicholas Allway, of Towers Drive, Crowthorne, was caught on May 22 speeding in Bristol.

The 48-year-old was caught driving on the M32 Severn Bridge at 48mph in a 40mph speed limit zone.

At North Somerset Magistrates Court on October 11, he pleaded guilty and was fined £269.

There was also a victim surcharge of £108 and court costs of £90.

His disqualification will last for six months and his driving record has also been endorsed with three penalty points.

The total amount to pay is £467.

A MAN has been disqualified from driving after being caught over the alcohol limit.

Sean Rose, of Westwood Row, Tilehurst, was caught on August 5 this year drink driving in a Nissan Navara in Calcot.

The 44-year-old had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

At Reading Magistrates Court on August 22, he pleaded guilty and was disqualified from driving for 12 months, reduced by three months for a driving course.

He was also fined £553. There were also court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £221.
