A DISTRESSED dog was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck on a lake.
Fire crews received reports of a dog stranded on an island in Heath Pool, Finchampstead, Wokingham, on October 4.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Animal Rescue Unit was sent to the scene from Caversham Road Fire Station at 6.50pm.
A spokesman said: "Upon arrival, firefighters found a dog stranded on an island in the middle of the lake.
"Firefighters rescued the dog and returned it to its owner.
"The Animal Rescue Unit was at the scene for approximately 45 minutes."
