A British soldier from Sandhurst is set to take on two Guinness World Records in support of a local mental health charity.

In November, Tristan Willis will attempt to complete the fastest mile and longest distance of burpee broad jumps ever to be recorded.

The devoted family man chose to take on this record-breaking challenge to fundraise and raise awareness for a charity that is very close to his heart – Parenting Mental Health.

Commenting on the grueling challenge, Tristan said: “I’m estimating it’s going to take somewhere between 5 to 6 hours to complete but I’m ready to test my body, my mind and raise awareness for Parenting Mental Health – a charity very close to my heart which supports parents and families with a child with a mental health issue.

“My sister’s neurological disorder has seen some very difficult times for my parents, myself and of course, my sister, but Parenting Mental Health has been there every step of the way in supporting us and thousands of other families. I’m excited to raise some awareness of this invaluable community and family resource, raise some money, and to get started - the countdown is on!

Tristan has been active on social media in the run-up to the challenge describing the techniques he will be using during the challenge.

Parenting Mental Health has thanked the Sandhurst lad for everything he is doing to support and raise awareness of the charity.

Suzanne Alderson, founder of Parenting Mental Health, added: “What Tristan is taking on is just amazing - I think most people would struggle to do just five of these burpees, myself included!

"Tristan is not only a fantastic fundraiser, but also brilliant at raising awareness for our Charity and our work. We’re so grateful for everything he’s done and can’t wait to cheer Tristan on from the sidelines on the day!”

A £5,000 target has been set on a Just Giving page to raise money for Parenting Mental Health.
