CLARITY on a busy road closure has come from Bracknell Forest Council after a notice which said roadworks could last 'up to six months'.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order was issued and approved for the closure of New Road between Forest Road and Fernbank Road.

The notice stated that the road closure shall come into operation on September 29th 2023 and covers a period of six months or until completion of the works whichever shall be earlier.

However, Bracknell Forest Council has since confirmed the closure is in fact just expected to last over one day on September 29. The road will be closed between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm.

The authority clarified that the wording used in the Temporary Regulation Order to describe the road closure is required under legislation, and simply covers the six month period by law.

Bracknell Forest Council has informed students at Ascot Heath Primary School also, who would have been impacted significantly by any longer road closure.

The council has been contacted for comment.
