A respected car garage in Wokingham has celebrated its 100th anniversary this weekend.

Cresswell’s Garage in Finchampstead marked the occasion by having numerous classic cars on show, whilst treating their guests and loyal customers to food and drink.

The business first opened its doors in the summer of 1923 and has remained part of the Cresswell family ever since.

When asked about the longevity of the garage, director Trevor Cresswell said: “It be honest, it’s all about being personal with the customers, treating them with respect, being truthful and of course, putting all the hard hours in.

“It’s the simple stuff but it’s the stuff that works.

“And to be around for 100 years is a great achievement and we really enjoyed celebrating that over the [bank holiday] weekend.

Trevor, along with his wife, two children, brother and nephew currently run the day-to-day business of Cresswell’s, which specialise in repairs and servicing, MOTs and jet washing.

The business also briefly appeared in the Amazon Prime drama, The Devil's Hour, which starred Kyle Rowe, Jessica Raine and Peter Capaldi.
