Work is underway transforming the former Transport Research Laboratory site in Crowthorne into a housing estate.

Developers Bovis Homes and Linden Homes are set to release the first properties for sale in October.

The joint venture between the two companies, which are part of Vistry Group, will see the development of 169 properties at Buckler's Park in Crowthorne.

The project aims to bring a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as two, three, four, and five-bedroom houses to the site.

Bracknell Forest Council granted planning permission for the Buckler's Park development in December 2022.

Once completed, there will be 85 Bovis Homes properties and 84 Linden Homes properties at the site.

This project is the fourth phase of the regeneration of the TRL land.

The overall scheme has outline planning permission for up to 1,000 new homes, as well as a country park and community facilities.

Show homes for this phase are set to open in October, and the first residents are expected to move into their new properties in Winter 2023.

This location has a rich history. The site served as a testing ground for highway innovations during the 1960s, including the introduction of mini-roundabouts and cycle lanes.

This pioneering work laid the foundation for road improvements across the country.

But now, the focus is on creating an exceptional living environment.

According to Alix Laflin, the marketing manager at Vistry Thames Valley, the development will offer residents a peaceful retreat surrounded by green open spaces, a neighborhood glade, and tree-lined streets.

A spokesman said: "The proximity to woodland and a nature reserve adds to its appeal.

"The homes have been designed to merge indoor and outdoor living, with light and airy modern spaces that capture the essence of the natural surroundings."

Currently, Bovis Homes properties are priced from £499,500, while Linden Homes houses start from £555,000.

Planning permission for the Buckler's Park development was granted by the Bracknell Forest Council in December 2022.

When completed, there will be 85 Bovis Homes properties and 84 Linden Homes properties within the neighborhood.

This phase of development represents the fourth residential stage of the wider regeneration project for the TRL land.

The overall scheme has outline planning permission for up to 1,000 new homes, a country park, and community facilities.
