A MAN found dead in Bracknell is suspected to have died from drug use, an inquest has heard.

Robert Clark was sadly found dead in Dartmouth Close on February 8 this year at the age of 52.

An inquest was opened at Berkshire Coroners Court on August 15 to determine the cause of his death.

Coroner Alison McCormick said: “The background to Mr Clark’s death was that he was known as someone who abused drugs.

“He was known to have a history of mental health problems and substance abuse issues and unfortunately, albeit ongoing mental health support had been made available to him, he wasn’t engaging at the time of his death.

“On the day that Mr Clark died, he was with associates at the property and was seen to use drugs and when the associates left the property for a short time and then returned they found Mr Clark to be lifeless.”

Emergency services were called but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. A post-mortem report has provided a cause of death as acute cardiac respiration failure due to multiple drug use.

A full inquest will take place at the same court to determine the cause of Mr Clark’s death but no date has been set while investigations are ongoing.
