SCOUTS from Berkshire are on their way back to the UK after the World Scout Jamboree ended early following a heatwave and typhoon.
The 36 scouts and 4 volunteers travelled to South Korea on July 21 for the World Scout Jamboree which brings together more than 40,000 scouts from across the world.
Unfortunately, on August 6 they were forced to pull out of the Jamboree alongside thousands of others due to the dangerous temperatures that put more than 700 people in need of hospital treatment.
Updating their blog, the Berkshire scouts have announced that they have started their journey back to the UK today (August 15).
Writing about their last few days in Korea, a spokesperson wrote on the blog: "A truly wonderful and memorable day it was".
Despite the group heading back to the UK early, "there is quite a lot of energy back in the cabin", the blog continues.
"It’s remarkable what a few hours sleep for most has done to boost them all".
