A JUNIOR boxer from Bracknell made it onto the podium while representing England at an international competition.

Mohammad (Manny) Safari, 15, won a Bronze medal for England at the Junior European Championships in Romania.

Manny trains at The Ring ABC in Bracknell and was chosen to join the England Boxing team after winning gold at various national competitions.

He won Bronze in the under 50kg category and was beaten by a "split decision".

This comes after he won his first round fight with a “unanimous decision”.

Head coach Darren Taylor says "everyone at The Ring Amateur Boxing Club in Bracknell town centre are very proud of his achievement and look forward to Manny bringing his medal back to the club to inspire the junior boxers."

He won gold for England at the GB Three Nations competition this year, competing against Scotland and Wales.
