It’s Summertime and school is officially out for most kids across the UK!!

With six-weeks of free time it may often feel like a challenge for parents to find activities to keep children entertained until the next school year begins.

With the help of Trip Advisor, The News have come up with five different ideas in Bracknell Forest that will keep both children and adults amused for hours.

The Look Out Discovery Centre.

This hands-on science and discovery centre is perfect if you are looking to give your children a day of fun. The indoor and outdoor areas provide activities for primary school aged kids to learn and grow .

This includes an outdoor playground and a café. The suggested duration to take time out for a trip to the discovery centre is three hours where there is unlimited access.

Sadie D commented on Trip Advisor saying: “There was so much to do for all ages. We especially loved the water area. There was so many sections and although it was busy as it's Easter there was always stuff to go on. We also loved the slime show”

2. Lily Hill Park

As the name suggests, Bracknell Forest is inundated with award-winning green spaces and acres of forest to enjoy.

This includes Lily Hill Park – the 23-hectare public open space, located to the north east of Bracknell and less than a mile from the town centre.

With it’s mainly flat terrain, the park is accessible for both kids and wheelchair users.

Other green spaces includes South Hill Park and Swinley Forest.

3. Puzzalogical Escape Rooms

If you are looking for something suitable for slightly older children, teens and adults, Bracknell’s premier escape room is a perfect way to spend and day or night out.

This is 60 minutes of fully immersive live entertainment where you are trapped inside a room with your team to play a vital part in a particular story, discovering clues and solving the end puzzle.

New virtual areas and different themes have also been released in the last few months.

Lynda C commented on Trip Advisor following a visit with the family. She said: “We were a group of 4. Grandparents who had never done anything like this before. Grandchildren of 10 and 12 (nearly 13) who had done a few escape rooms before.

“We did the Egyptology room which was great fun. It was tricky and thank you for all the hints and tips that came our way through a speaker when we were struggling. But we loved it.

“Well thought out, super props and challenging. It has certainly made us want to do more. Would highly recommend Puzzalogical - very friendly and helpful staff.”

4. Coral Reef Water world

Bracknell's very own water park is frequented by hundreds of people every week and is one of England’s largest interactive water worlds.

Features include thrilling waterslides, an erupting volcano, Splash pad, a pirate ship and a variety of other features.

There is also an adults-only Coral spa area to relax while the kids play.

One reviewer who visited in July 2023 said: “We had such a lovely trip to Coral Reef today! My two year old nephew was welcome so nicely by the lady behind reception. I wish I’d ask for her name but she had brown hair and we were there between 1-3! She interacted with him so wonderfully which made the experience even better. Thank you!”

5. Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre

Feathers and Fur arrived at the Moss End Garden Centre in Bracknell Forest less than a year ago.

The centre showcases wonderful birds of prey and offers handling experiences where anyone can learn what it’s like to hold one of their spectacular birds first hand.

Feathers and Fur also offers photography sessions, group visits and care therapy.

The falconry has increased in popularity throughout the area during 2023 and is an excellent day out for both kids and adults.

Moss End Garden Centre features a café where people can enjoy a bite to eat or a hot drink after a session at Feathers and Fur.
