The yellow brick road will soon be winding through the streets of Bracknell in a new and 'unique' experience.

Launching on July 24, visitors to the Lexicon and South Hill Park Arts Centre will be able to hunt down 10 of the iconic characters.

'Follow the Yellow Brick Road: A Wizard of Oz Experience' is a collaboration between The Lexicon, South Hill Park Arts Centre and Bracknell Forest Borough Council.

Boasting a "magical" multi-venue performance inspired by Frank L Baum’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz the event will see a floral rainbow added to the centre.

Those booked onto the trail will start at South Hill Park, which will be transformed into Kansas and the Land of Oz, and work their way to the finish line at Emerald City in The Lexicon, finding characters along the way.

Organisers said: "Join Dorothy in Munchkinland and find all your favourite characters as they follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City at The Lexicon.

"Meet the Scarecrow, the Tin-Man and the Lion, on a truly enchanting adventure, as Dorothy is swept into a whirlwind quest to defeat the Wicked Witch with your help – using engaging activities to unlock the Wizard’s chamber. During their extraordinary journey, they all learn the true meaning of friendship and that there really is ‘no place like home’."

The "interactive" and "immersive" show is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.

Participants will need to pick up a trail leaflet from the leaflet dispensers in The Avenue Welcome Hall and Princess Square.

They will then follow the clues to locate ten characters hidden around the town centre.

Once complete the form should then be returned to one of the post boxes located outside Yi Fang on The Avenue or in Princess Square next to Select for your chance to win.

Participants will then be in for a chance of winning a range of prizes including a £100 Primark gift card, Ozone Ice Rink £15 gift voucher, tickets to South Hill Park’s Pantomime, a South Hill Park £25 voucher, and two Yellow Brick Road hampers from The Lexicon.

The event runs from Monday, July 24 until Saturday, September 2.

Slots are currently available to book from August 17 to August 27 at a cost of £5 - sessions last approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.
