(Bracknell Forest) Pond in new Warfield country park: 23/00091/COND

Plans for three ponds in a new country park have been submitted by housing developers to Bracknell Forest Council.

The ponds will sit in the middle of a meadow, close to an area of woodland.

The park is being built by Harrow Estates on former farmland just north of Church Lane, and will sit between Frost Folly and Windmill Meadows country parks, joining them up.

Bracknell Forest Council demanded that Harrow Estates provide the land to mitigate the impact of major new housing developments in the area. Councillors approved the developers’ overall plans for the park at a meeting in March this year, subject to more detailed plans being provided.

(Bracknell Forest) Construction plan for controversial Warfield housing project: 23/00087/COND

Developers Croudace Homes have submitted details of how they will manage the construction of 50 new houses north of Newhurst Gardens in Warfield.

It comes despite the fact that they are currently wrangling with councillors over changes that residents say will be unsafe.

The construction management plan outlines how builders will protect the nearby environment, limit noise and dust, and ensure safety while work is ongoing. It also says builders will only work between 8am and 6pm on weekdays, and 9am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Croudace Homes was required to submit this to the council before work can begin, after getting initial planning approval.

Yet councillors voted just this week to delay deciding whether to approve a narrow access road to the new site, which residents say will put lives “at risk.”

(Wokingham Borough) Heat pumps for church hall in Twyford: 230072

Two new heat pumps could save the future of the United Reformed Church in Twyford, after getting approval from Wokingham Borough Council.

Terence Powley applied for permission to install the new heat pumps as its old electric heaters were inefficient. His application form said the savings would secure the hall’s future use.

He said: “This eco-efficient equipment is to replace very old and expensive to run electric night storage heaters.

“Without moving to more economic equipment, the power consumption will become unsustainable, thus putting this church and community asset at risk for future beneficial use.”
