A ROAD in Crowthorne has been 'urgently' closed for 'emergency electricity repairs' that are likely to last until next week.

Nine Mile Ride, near Crowthorne and Finchamstead, has been closed to allow SSEN to repair a high voltage mains.

A spokesperson from SSEN, said: “Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) was alerted to a high voltage fault on its Wokingham network at 8:38am on Sunday, June 4.

“Fifty one customers were affected by the fault on the underground cable, with their supplies being restored by 4:31pm that afternoon.

“As the cable is situated underground, filling and reinstatement works are being carried out and will be fully completed by the weekend."

According to One Network, the road closure is in place until Thursday, June 15.

Wokingham Borough Council Traffic and Travel said access to Saint Sebastians Church is via Lower Wokingham Road only.

SSEN added: “SSEN apologises for any inconvenience this unplanned interruption to supplies and subsequent repairs have caused.”
