A RAIL service from Ascot will be closed all weekend as South Western Railway carry out maintenance work.

The lines between Ascot and Aldershot will be closed on Saturday and Sunday (June 10-11) due to engineering work.

This will affect several stations including Bagshot, Camberley, Frimley and Ash Vale, as well as Ascot and Aldershot.

On Sunday (June 11), the Guildford to Ascot via Aldershot services will terminate at Aldershot.

Buses will replaces services from Ascot to Aldershot on Saturday and Sunday. 

South Western Railway said: "We are sorry that bulky luggage, cycles and prams cannot be carried on the replacement bus services."

 

 

The rail service added: "Customers should be aware that, due to a nationwide shortage of bus drivers, it is not always possible to secure as many rail replacement bus services as we would like during essential engineering works.

"Our teams are working very hard to arrange as many rail replacement bus services as possible and limit the disruption caused to customer journeys, but there may be gaps between buses and customers should check before they travel."
