An eagle-eyed member of the public spotted a film crew at two locations in the area this week as the filming of the second series of an Amazon thriller gets underway.

Filming started on Monday, May 22 between 8pm and 2:30am when a team of 50-60 descended on the Deep Blue fish and chip shop in Yateley.

Although technically in the borough of Hampshire, the venue is near other Berkshire filming sites in nearby Wokingham and Finchampstead which are used within the Amazon series, the Devil’s Hour.

According to a local resident, the One Stop Convenience Store in Finchampstead was also used as a location for one of the scenes in the thriller.

Manager of Deep Blue fish and chip shop, Jack Nolan said: “It was an interesting experience and wonderful that they chose to showcase the shop within the show.

“They said that they chose the precinct and the chippy in particular because they got a good feel from the area of small shops. They needed somewhere that could portray a dark, wet and gloomy night for 30 seconds of footage that they wanted to capture.

“As far as I am aware the scene will have the young character Isaac at the centre of it, with the Mum, Dad and sister alongside him and is to be shown in one of the earlier episodes of the second series.”

According to Jack, many of the film personnel, crew and extras were taken from the Farnborough Centre, which is a local film centre a few miles away.
