An independent store, which opened at The Lexicon in October 2022 has closed its doors this week, after only five months in Bracknell town centre.

Four State opened their Bracknell branch on The Avenue, taking over former Sea Salt store when it left the shopping centre in August.

According to The Lexicon, the small store offering a range of eco-friendly products made the decision not to extend their short lease despite a busy Christmas period.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says:  “We are sorry to see Four State leave The Lexicon.

“The store has decided not to extend its short-term lease, and while having a fabulous Christmas, has opted to focus their business activities elsewhere. We wish their team every success in the future."

This closure comes as Paperchase announces the closure of it's remaining UK stores.

The stationary retailer has confirmed on its store finder website that the last day of trading will be Monday.

The message left on the website reads: “All of our stores will be closed soon, our last day of trade is 3rd April."

Tesco purchased the brand and intellectual property later that month, but the deal did not include any of Paperchase’s 106 UK stores.

Rob Morris added: "Interest in The Lexicon remains buoyant and we expect to be able to confirm some new exciting arrivals to The Lexicon in the coming months."
