A town where you will be "healthier, wealthier and more beautiful" has been named the best place to live in Berkshire.

Wokingham has grabbed the top spot in the Muddy Stilettos 'best place to live' awards, beating Windsor to the top spot.

The awards have described the town a "big hit" with families for it's "excellent schools, buzzy town and surrounding countryside" Wokingham is often described as a pretty market town and often crops up in surveys of the best place to live in the UK.

Just outside of Bracknell, the town boasts plenty of places to eat and shop and includes attractions such as Swinley Forest and Coral Reef pool for "great outdoorsy fun".

While indoor entertainment such as Everyman Cinema and Wokingham Theatre make the town well rounded.

The average house price in the area is £545,296, with detached homes going for £752,625, semi-detached £474,295 and terraced properties fetching £394,193.

"Top notch" nursaries and schools can also be expected in the area.

Windsor with it's "royal swagger" has been named the second best place to live in the Muddy Stilettos Berkshire ranking.

Just a town over, Cookham came in third with its "foodie, arty, indie high street".

The regional winners of the best place to live will now go head to head, with 25 towns trying to win the top spot.

Muddy Stilettos will announce the national winner for the best place to live next Tuesday, March 28.
