A major update for a huge new development in Bracknell has emerged.

The Bracknell Beeches offices, which are seven office buildings located south of the train station, are set to be demolished to make way for more than 300 apartments.

Meanwhile, a fresh plan for a new tower block in Bracknell town centre has been submitted.

And in Wokingham, the owner of a dog grooming business is seeking to confirm the legality of a spa building.

Demolition of offices to clear way for hundreds of apartments (23/00163/DEM)

Progress is being made on a huge development that would see 349 apartments and new facilities being provided within seven huge new buildings in Bracknell.

Approval was granted for these new buildings at the Bracknell Beeches site in Old Bracknell Lane West, just south of the train station.

Now, the developers S2 Bracknell Ltd and Weston Homes have submitted details for the demolition of the Bracknell Beeches buildings, which are a collection of seven two storey offices.

A document submitted with the application states all businesses that occupied the offices have either closed or relocated, clearing the way for the buildings to be demolished so work on the development can start.

A fresh plan for apartments to replace 6-10 High Street in Bracknell has been submitted.

Bracknell Development Ltd wants to knock down the two existing buildings 6 and 8-10 High Street and replace them with a new eight storey tower containing 39 flats.

Of those, 21 would be one-bed and 18 would be two-beds.

A similar plan for 58 apartments (reference 22/00169/FUL) was withdrawn on Wednesday March 1, meaning developers have scaled back the number of flats they want to build by 19.

Emily Reynolds, the owner of the uniquely named ‘Barkshire Dog Spa’ has applied for a legal certificate to use a hatch in her garden as a dog grooming salon.

The Barkshire Dog Spa was established last year, as the owner was under the impression the construction of the garden hatch at the home in 39 Eastheath Avenue was permitted development.

Now Miss Reynolds has applied for a legal certificate to confirm the building’s use as a dog spa.

Big changes to 18th Century house (Wokingham app 230239)

The owners of Sonning House in Pearson Road, Sonning have applied to make substantial changes to the house.

The applied for improvement project would involve removing an existing single storey side lobby and boundary wall, constructing a single storey rear extension and a first floor rear extension, internal alterations and the installation of a swimming pool and associated pool house.

Sonning House dates back to the late 18th century and is a Grade II listed building.
