Concerned Ascot residents have seen an increase in vehicle thefts within the town centre and surrounding areas.
Between February 22 to March 1, six thefts occurred both on public and private land, targeting both valuable items within the car and visible number plates.
Police are cracking down on these crimes that all appear to be related.
The six vehicle thefts that happened are detailed below:
Wednesday, February 22
A car parked on Victoria Road, was broken into two weeks ago and items were stolen.
In the early hours of Wed morning, suspects have tried breaking into the vehicle again, but luckily were unsuccessful. CCTV footage was taken.
Tuesday, February 28
During the day, a car parked in Car Park 3 of Ascot Racecourse has had the number plates stolen and replaced with different ones.
Tuesday, February 28
The owner of a vehicle parked at the flats in Jays Court, Sunninghill Road returned from their holiday to find that the car had been broken into. Several items had been stolen including golf clubs.
Wednesday, March 1
Three cars were broken into during the evening, which were parked on Elizabeth Gardens, Woodend Drive and Upper Village Road. Sets of golf clubs were stolen from each vehicle.
A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said: “If, at anytime, you spot someone acting suspiciously around your property and/or vehicle please report it straight away. If a crime is being committed dial 999. Call 101 if it isn't an emergency or report online to www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
“Remember! do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle. Remove anything from display, such as a satnav, to deter opportunist thieves!”
