SEVERAL driving offences and thefts across the county have led to jail sentences this month.

Here are their names and their crimes:

Luke Spencer

The 44-year-old, of Lyndhurst Road, was sentenced to a year and six months in prison after driving a Mercedes Benz on January 7 with false number plates.

He made off from police and travelled at speeds over 70mph in a 30mph zone, before crashing into two members of the public.

Spencer was chased by police and arrested at the scene. The members of the public sustained minor injuries.

Jordan Musa

The 27-year-old, of London Road, Earley, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison after a jury unanimously found him guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

At about 6.20pm on April 9 last year, Musa stabbed a man in his forties to the side of the chest, piercing through his ribs and narrowly missing the lungs, and then stabbed him in the thigh in Avon Place. The victim required numerous stitches.

He was arrested at the scene and charged on January 30.

Ben Layton

The 40-year-old, of Broadmark Road, Slough, pleaded guilty to one count each of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, fraudulent use of a registration mark, driving without a licence and driving without insurance on October 21 last year.

Layton was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and disqualified from driving for seven years at Reading Crown Court.

At approximately 1.45pm on Saturday August 27 last year, Layton was seen driving a black Audi RS5 displaying false number plates through Slough.

He failed to stop for officers on the A412 and continued driving dangerously, putting himself and other drivers at risk.

Layton turned left into a junction and collided with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist sustained life-changing injuries as result of the collision.

He did not stop at the scene and then collided with the vehicle of an off-duty police officer.

Frenny Green, 53, Jady Green, 49, and Simon Lopez, 40, and Dale Northcote, 32

The first three defendants, all of Royal Avenue, Calcot, and Northcote, of Westfield Road, Witney were sentenced at Reading Crown Court.

Green pleaded guilty to charges of one count of conspiring to commit theft offences, one count of attempted theft and one count of burglary. He was given four years and ten months in prison.

Green (Jady) pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods and was given a four-month prison sentence, suspended for a year and six months.

Lopez pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, one count of attempted theft and seven counts of theft of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison.

Northcote pleaded guilty to nine counts of theft of a motor vehicle and was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.

The sentences relate to a number of offences that took place between March 2018 and November 2019.

Ryan Rogers, 23, and Shaylun Wilson, 23

Rogers of Parkside Road, Reading, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. Wilson, of Lock Place, Reading, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment.

Both pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery. On July 22, Rogers and Wilson approached two boys in their teens at the University of Reading campus and stole their mobile phones.
