Two new restaurants are set to join the ranks of restaurants at The Lexicon and readers have said that they are 'so excited'.

Following the announcement that Chopstix and GDK will appear in early 2023, readers were quick to share their thoughts on the new arrivals.

Chopstix is a popular Asian restaurant/takeaway that has Berkshire outlets in both Slough and Reading. Some have said that they are ‘so excited’ after frequenting the eatery on Slough High Street.

Paul Havers said: “Chopstix in Slough is good so if this the same standard then yes please.”

Another reader added: “I haven’t been to Lexicon for a while! May pop soon.”

Colin Hawkins added: "Definately a great thing to have more food outlets, after all you can't take your partner to Amazon for a meal..... Yet."

The Lexicon has seen not only a rise in shops but also a substantial increase in restaurants making their debut within the shopping complex.

Although excited about the arrival, many residents have said they would be interested in independents and affordable outlets in order to support local businesses.

Robert Wilkins said: “We need every day shops for people able to shop in high street on low incomes also not more chains independent shops and eateries.

“l now go to Bracknell by 80% less now for all reasons stated by previous people, very disappointed with shopping centre.

“Two drinks and small sandwiches in an eatery came to 28 pound car park  four pound.”

Another reader said: "Restaurants. Fast food franchise slop, mmm. Any space in the Lexicon for independents?”

The departure of Bill’s restaurant within the shopping complex was a massive disappointment for shoppers when it was announced that it would be replaced by Five Guys this year.

The restaurant had become a popular eatery within the town.

Following the regeneration of The Lexicon, high-end high street shops were introduced to the shopping complex. However, following the cost-of-living crisis this has caused a problem for many Bracknell residents who may be wishing for more affordable or varied shopping choices.

A lot of our readers gave suggestions of what stores that they would like to see appear on the high street.

Georgie George said: Somewhere to buy cheap school uniform. Places for teenagers to go. Entertainment for children. Independent lower costing brands of clothes, especially mensware. Shops people can actually afford to shop in.
