A LARGE house could be turned into a retirement homes as one of a number of plans submitted in the area this week.

Elsewhere, a fresh plan has been submitted for a large new home in Ascot and in Wokingham borough developers have submitted plans to convert farm barns into single storey homes.

Lifestory, a residential developer, has applied to knock down Floringham Lodge near the town centre and build a 42 room retirement home in its place.

These rooms will be split roughly 50/50 between one and two bed retirement living apartments contained in a new roofed three-storey building.

Floringham Lodge is a large family home with generous grounds and an unused swimming pool in Old Bracknell Lane East.

A land owner in Chavey Down has applied to build a large new four-bedroom home.

The house would be built on land next to Pine Acres house in Birch Lane, which is a private road. Each of the rooms would have double beds and ensuites.

Downstairs, there would be spacious living quarters including a kitchen living room, lounge, drawing room and sizeable garage.

The site has a long planning history, with an application for three detached houses (20/00887/FUL) being dismissed on appeal in October last year.

Here, Wroxton Group Holdings had applied to conduct works to convert three agricultural barns into five homes at Glasspool Farm in Riseley.

Each barn home would be one-storey tall.

Floor plans for four of the barns show each coming with two double bedrooms, a bathroom and an open plan kitchen and living room.

Meanwhile, the fifth barn at the back of the site would come with three double bedrooms, a family bathroom and an ensuite bathroom.

Additional extension for Sonning home (Wokingham app 230227)

Mr & Mrs Cole the occupants of 2 Deanery Cottage in High Street, Sonning, have applied for an additional extension to the existing one at the home.

The ground floor of the cottage is currently made up of a dining and kitchen room, a large living room and a toilet.

The extension would provide a new kitchen and living room, with the existing one being converted into a snug.

The Deanery Cottages are Grade II listed and are located over the street from The Bull Inn pub.
