A 24 year-old man who threatened a family at knife point has been jailed for three years.

The incident occurred when Tyler Scott-Wright, 24 of Warmwell Close, Pool, Dorset entered a property in Birch Hill area of Bracknell while the family of four were sleeping.

At around 2:35am on February 14 2021, the adults woke thinking the movements down stairs were from one of the children and found Scott-Wright in their doorway.

After threatening them with a knife, he made off with a TV, passports, a wallet and an iPad.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kelly Turner said: “I, along with the victim, am happy with the sentence given by the courts.

“This incident has made a significant lasting impact upon the victims’ lives, especially their children.

“No one should be made to feel unsafe while within their own home."

Following the burglary, officers tracked the iPad to his home address and found Scott Wright in bed surrounded by the stolen items.

He was sentenced  at Reading Crown Court on Monday (23/1).

Thames Valley Police added: “Thames Valley Police is committed to bringing burglars to justice as it is an incredibly invasive crime.

“Tyler Scott-Wright’s sentencing will hopefully serve a lesson to others who seek to commit burglaries that we will investigate and look to put offenders before the courts.”
