EVERYONE has a favourite restaurant. And there are some that stay in your mind even years after they’ve closed.

Restaurants may come and go but when they serve fantastic food and a have a brilliant atmosphere, they may be gone but not forgotten.

We asked readers to tell us their favourite eatery from years gone by and we received a glut of responses.

Sheilagh-anne Davidson said: "SANTA FE BAGEL (above Waterstones) was by far the BEST place to ever get lunch in town.

"Even now with all the choices we have I'd still go there! Best bagels, salads soups cakes and chai latte’s! Gutted they left!"

Gillian Mitchell echoed this and said: "Miss this place so much!"

Jacket Potato van

A number of readers commented how they missed the jacket potatos sold near the old bandstand.

Carrie-Anne Carter said: "JACKET POTATO VAN…….man those babies were goooooood."
