The Cricketers

This traditional Bracknell pub and restaurant is one of Bracknell’s most popular venues and number one in Trip Advisor.

This January, The Cricketers have begun a few offers that could keep you coming back for more. This includes a full Vegan menu and a 50% discount on mains in the restaurant.

Four stars have been awarded to the country pub with 1242 reviews left on the website. It was also given the 2022 Travellers Choice award last year.

One reviewer said: “It was a last-minute decision to go for a Sunday roast, as it was a beautiful winter’s day and we felt very Christmassy.

“We managed to get a table here. Great service (thanks Shawn) and a really fantastic roast dinner. I had the chicken (I couldn’t have done it better myself) and my partner had the Pork Belly (which he says had lovely crackling!) we had big portions and it was tasty. We will be back.”

Another customer said: “We had a wonderful family reunion and Sunday lunch at The Cricketers. The food was absolutely delicious, and the warm and welcoming team made it even more so.

“Jane the manager was attentive and happy to help with whatever we needed. Thoroughly reccomended!”

The Old Hatchett Pub and Restaurant

Address: The Old Hatchet Lane, Cranbourne, Windsor, Winkfield, Bracknell. SL4 2EE.

Located in the charming village of Winkfield amongst many of Berkshire most sought after neighbourhoods, the 16th century pub was originally a set of cottages belonging to local woodmen.   

Now it is a charming setting with an open fire for lunch, dinner and drinks.

Diners from across Berkshire have reviewed this restaurant giving it a rating of four stars.

One past customer said: “Beautiful Sunday dinner , brilliant service definitely will be back .

“We had the pork , beef and Turkey Sunday dinners and to describe them as delicious is an understatement. All four dinners were amazing!! We then got the crème brûlée and the apple crumble and both were such a treat!

“Our waiter, Jacob, was brilliant! Very friendly and going out of the way to make our dinner even better.”

 

The Yorkshire Rose

Address: Forest Road, Bracknell. RG42 6AE.

This Warfield pub and restaurant has been a staple within Bracknell for many years. With a modern bar-area and picturesque beer garden the eatery is perfect for cosy Sunday afternoon gatherings with friends and family.

Not only does it provide a special roast menu on Sunday that includes options for all dietary requirements, it is also a dog-friendly venue.

From 517 reviews, this restaurant has scored four and a half stars.

One reviewer on Trip Advisor said: “Went for Sunday roast which was very tasty! Great Service from Millie, always very attentive and fast. Highly recommended John and Domi

Another added: “My boyfriend booked this for an Easter treat for us and we loved it. Service was professional and attentive from start to finish. We got seated in a lovely spot by the fireplace and were quickly served.

“My boyfriend Is veggie, and they easily swapped out the roast meat with the mushroom starter with no fuss. The food was beautifully presented and tasty and the tiramisu to die for."

 

The Golden Retrievers

The Golden Retrievers is a popular, rural and rustic Bracknell pub located on Nine Mile Ride.

The hearty, seasonal pub-food is only complemented by their classic cask ales and fine wines list.

From 1565 reviews the establishment has been awarded a Trip Advisor review of four stars.

One reviewer said: “The Sunday roast was cooked to perfection. The turkey was moist and the vegetables were plentiful. I have never had a bad roast from the Golden Retriever.

Another past customer said: “Had an excellent Sunday lunch with the grandchildren. Only quibble was the broccoli was a bit undercooked. However the food was tasty and our server Pauline did an excellent job especially as it was very busy.”

 

Shurlock Inn

Shurlock Inn is a charming countryside Inn that is known as one of Berkshires finest hidden gems. It values itself on first-class service and although it is considered quite expensive, past customers say that it is worth every penny.

The Sunday lunch contains all the trimming, including the best beef, pork and chicken.

A Trip Advisor reviewer said: “Went here for Sunday Roast after a walk at a local National Trust with wife and 2 kids. Everything was great, from the friendly welcome to the efficient and helpful service.

“The wife and I went for the Roast For 2, which we were not disappointed with, SO much food! We managed to squeeze in some dessert also, the rhubarb tart I particularly enjoyed.

“The staff were very accommodating of kids special requests and made us really feel welcome. We will definitely be returning.”
