HEROIC Berkshire residents are celebrating today after being named in the New Years Honours list for 2023.

A mixture of people from different walks of life across the county have been included for their efforts and devotion within their field.

Among the list in Berkshire are campaign heroes, NHS superstars, pillars of the community and charity fundraising champions.

Lissie Harper has been made an MBE for her campaign to strengthen the law in her late husband PC Harper's memory.

Lissie has been honoured for her services to victims of violent crime and their families.

Professor Paul Glaister, who teaches mathematics and mathematics education at the University of Reading, has received a CBE for his work.

Mr Glaister has 42 years in teaching and leadership experience, publishing 463 pieces of research in numerical analysis, mathematics/science education, and teaching and learning.

Mary Elizabeth Davies. Chief Executive Officer, Maiden Erlegh Trust. For services to Education. (Newbury, Berkshire)
