It’s that time of year again!

Berkshire’s ultimate Christmas attraction set in the beautiful grounds of the Crown Estate has begun welcoming visitors from across the country.

Over the course of November and December, tens of thousands of people will flock to LaplandUK offering festive fun for all the family.

Due to the size and scale of this festive operation, LaplandUK works with a group of partners to ensure the site is complying with guidelines to make sure visitors are kept safe.

Public Protection Partnership conducted a ‘blue light’ tour ahead of the opening on November 12 with emergency services to conduct the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) process.

They said: “The role of the Safety Advisory Group is to provide advice to organisations planning a public event.  However some of the attendees of SAG do have legislative powers.

“This includes the Council’s Environmental Health Food Safety, Health and Safety Officers and Licencing Officers who need to ensure that the Licensing Act objectives are adhered to, as well as advising on public safety.”

The objectives that the attraction are expected to adhere to include the prevention of crime and disorder, the promotion of public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

Joint workings begun in September between the different bodies and LaplandUK. This is to ensure everything is ready as the site is built from scratch on Crown Estate Land near Ascot.

PPP advise as part of the Safety Advisory Group and also carry out health and safety, food hygiene, noise and licensing visits prior and throughout the operation of event.

LaplandUK will run until Christmas Eve and are expecting over 30,000 people to flock to the Ascot site.
