COURAGE and sacrifice were on the minds of a reflective crowd at Remembrance Sunday services across the area and beyond today.

Bracknell and Wokingham communities came together to honour the heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their life for their country.

Streets were packed with people proudly wearing their poppies to stand shoulder to shoulder during services up and down the boroughs, including services in Bracknell's town centre, Wokingham's Market Place, Arborfield, and more.

In Bracknell town centre, crowds watched on as a procession of veterans, service personnel and cadets proudly marched through The Lexicon before a service at the Angel War Memorial.

A number of community groups, organisations, and youth groups were also out in force to pay tribute outside Princess Square. Wreaths were laid at the memorial, and crowds fell silent at 11am, before a church service at Holy Trinity Church.

Crowds also fell silent at 11am in Wokingham to pay tribute to those who have died in the two world wars and following conflicts. The parade led by St Sebastian Wokingham Band followed later in the afternoon from the town hall before a service was held at St Pauls Church at 3pm.

In Arborfield, the parade marched from the Arborfield Royal British Legion in Eversley Road towards Arborfield Cross for the service of remembrance. Wreaths were laid by military personnel and veterans including 96 year old George Winters, town dignitaries, MP John Redwood, and pupils from The Coombes Primary School.
