The famous racecourse is well-known for its event which takes place in Mid May and June for five days showcasing the best that racing has to offer and bringing out the best-dressed race goers across the country.

This BBC celebrates this grade II listed site as it is where the BBC first televised horse-racing in June 1950.

For all viewers that couldn’t make it to the famous races event they broadcast some of the main races from the four days of Royal Ascot.

The BBC, including many other broadcasters have filmed Royal Ascot every year since that iconic date.

According to ‘Historic England’ the area that is classed as grade II listed is the famous turnstiles which take you into the grounds and the offices on Ascot High Street.
