A 23-year-old man assaulted two police officers and was caught with a kitchen knife in a train station near Bracknell.

Brandon Taylor was sentenced to six months in jail on Tuesday (September 27) at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court for possessing the offensive weapon, and one month for each assault to be served concurrently.

Taylor, of Blacketts Road, Tonge, in Kent, was “threatening” and aggressive during the incident in Crowthorne Railway Station on June 7, according to court documents.

“Any such attack and threats to emergency workers must be dealt with severely as both a punishment to the defendant and to send a message of general deterrent effect,” the sentencing documents read.

On July 19, Taylor failed to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail on June 6.

Taylor must pay £150 in compensation and a surcharge to fund victim services of £154.

The kitchen knife was forfeited to be destroyed.

The full amount due, £304, musy be paid by January 26, 2023.
