Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II, has died aged 96.

The Queen who celebrated her Platinum Jubilee this year, passed away on Thursday, September 8.

The nation’s longest-reigning monarch had ongoing mobility issues and had been due to hold the Privy Council virtually on Wednesday.

Over the last seven decades, Her Royal Majesty has represented the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in countless countries across the global, whilst also visiting numerous places in and around England. 

After spending time at Windsor Castle for the majority of the year, we look back at her various visits to the county:
