A Bracknell fast-food van has been granted a temporary license renewal having not been able to operate for the past few weeks.

Rumbly Tums burger van applied to the council to continue the sitting of its hot food van situated in the south-west corner of the Wickes car park on Western Road.

The company’s previous temporary license expired on June 22, and it had not reapplied until June 20. As the application process takes between six and eight weeks to complete, the company could not operate on the site until the decision had been made.

A five-year license was permitted, expiring on August 23, 2027, after which the vehicle “shall be removed and the land restored” to its former state so the local authority has “control over the use of the land”.

Rumbly Tums, which is also available on food app Deliveroo, sells breakfast items, burgers and wraps, as well as hot and cold drinks.

The van received a five-star hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency during its most recent inspection, which took place in 2019. It’s not unusual for businesses seen as very low risk to not be inspected for over two years.
