PLANS to replace closed down Loch Fyne seafood and grill have been revealed just days after doors shut.

A major renovation project is underway at the long-standing restaurant in London Road, Wokingham, that officially closed on Sunday (August 28).

The venue is set to be returned to a local pub with 'roaring fires, a caramel lava top bar, and cosy drinking nooks'.

Owners Green King announced the new pub will be crowned The Foundry Bell in a nod to the heritage of the local area, recalling the original Bell Foundry from the 13th century.

New openings manager Ed Dugdill said: “The Foundry Bell will be such a great addition to the Wokingham pub scene.

"The plans look incredible and alongside a menu that will take our guests from brunch to evening drinks with friends, it’s really exciting to be able to start talking about it!

"We can’t wait to open the doors."

Renovations will include a 'contemporary' redesign, with cosy drinking nooks, private dining room, space for 120 diners, and an 'enhanced outdoor space'.

The menu will also have a makeover to focus on small plates 'perfect for shared grazing'.

The new site will create 40 new jobs locally from front of house to managerial roles.

The Foundry Bell is expected to officially open in November 2022 and progress will be documented on the venue's Instagram @the_foundry_bell_wokingham and Facebook @thefoundrybellwokingham
