A SPECTACULAR music festival with tribute acts including ABBA, Foo Fighters and Queen is set to entertain families later this month.

Marvellous is returning to Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst on Saturday, July 23 to 24.

Peter Lincoln, creative director of Marvellous Festival, said: “Final preparations for the festival are being carried out at full steam. We all can’t wait to see everyone at this year’s event for the best weekend of the summer!”

This year’s event features 14 tribute acts including Adele, Take That, Katy Perry, Santana and more, together with headline performances from The Chicago Blues Brothers on the Saturday and How Sweet It Is, a show of classic Motown songs, on Sunday evening.

There will also be a great selection of food and drink on offer with a fully licensed bar.

Families will also be entertained by Happy's Circus providing cabaret-themed performances.

International artists from around the world will perform a range of aerial and ground acts, with some rarely seen. With each of the 45-minute show running twice on each day of the event, there will be ample opportunities to catch a performance. Tickets cost £5 per person.

Cllr Ian Shenton, executive member for environment, sport and leisure, said: “I warmly welcome the return of Marvellous Festival to the borough. Against the beautiful backdrop of Dinton Pastures, I am confident that the event, like in previous years, will bring much excitement and enjoyment to our residents. It is a must in everyone’s calendar this summer.”

Children of all ages will also find plenty to do with various fairground rides and free activities at the Big Kids’ Village, a favourite spot for the young ones at the event.

If festival-goers plan to spend the whole weekend at the Marvellous, they can choose to reserve a bell tent in the brand-new Glamping Village.

Bosses say all bell tents are well-equipped with necessities such as memory foam mattresses, a low-level table and battery lamps. Glampers will have their own dedicated luxury showers and toilets.  Other facilities include communal fridges, charging stations and more.

A campsite will also be made available to those who want to bring their own tent and pitch up in the country park.

Tickets to the Festival and places for glamping and camping are still available but they are selling quickly. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Booking can now be made on Skiddle platform.
