An application has been submitted proposing the erection of a new detached home and car port in Warfield.

The dwelling is proposed to be built on land to the east of Avery Lane and north of Watersplash Lane, following the implementation of a controversial 116-home development which was approved in 2018.

This proposal is for the development of plot 109, originally approved as a three-storey tower unit within the 116-home application, which had been left to allow for a car park to service the show homes.

Therefore, the site currently comprises of a large area of hardstanding.

The new plan would see the replacement of the tower unit with a two-storey, four-bedroom dwelling to match the height of surrounding residences.

The submission notes that the tower in the previous proposal was located at an “obscure angle” to the neighbouring properties and the new plan would provide a “more consistent street scene” and result in a “better relationship with plot 110” to the north of the site.

Similar to the previously approved unit, the proposed scheme would be served by two off-street parking spaces and a detached car port to the rear of the site – which has already been constructed – as well as a private garden.
