A Bracknell man has been hit with a hefty fine for attempting to travel on a train without paying.
Gursevak Dhanda of Wokingham Road, Bracknell, was fined £220 after failing to purchase a ticket at Westbury Train Station on September 10, 2021.
At a hearing which took place at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Friday April 29, the court heard how Dhanda travelled beyond the distance paid with this ticket.

The 23-year-old was found to have "knowingly and wilfully proceeded by train beyond the distance paid for and without previously paying the additional fare for the additional distance and with intent to avoid payment thereof'.
This is contrary to section 5(3)(b) of the Regulation of Railways Act 1889.
The court found him guilty.
As a result, Gursevak Dhanda has been fined £220.
He has also been ordered to pay costs of £111.80, a £34 surcharge to fund victim services, and court costs of £180
