It has been another busy week for planning approvals and new applications being submitted across the boroughs.   

In Bracknell, Sandhurst Cricket Club has had plans approved to erect an additional cricket net, replace the electronic scoreboard and extend the patio space, whilst Thames House has applied to demolish the two-storey former head office building. 

Meanwhile in Wokingham, an application proposing the erection of four new dwellings on Oaklands Lane has been approved, as well as the approval of a three-storey extension to Loddon Vale House which will provide two new residential dwellings.

Approved plans for improvements at Sandhurst Cricket Club (22/00076/FUL)

Sandhurst Cricket Club have had plans approved to extend its facilities at Memorial Park to accommodate the higher take-up seen since introducing their development programmes.  

The applicant claims this has led to an increased requirement for practice facilities and viewing areas for parents and spectators. 

The new changes will see an increase to its net facility – from two lanes to three – an increase in the size of the external patio space by 2m x 18.4m and the digitisation of the scoreboard.   

Plans submitted to demolish the Thames House building (22/00332/DEM)  

Bracknell News:

Shorts Demolition have been awarded the contract to demolish the Thames House building in Bracknell, which is subject to approval by the council. 

The work at the site, situated on Cookham Road, is outlined to be carried out between the hours of 08.00 – 18.00 Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 13.00 Saturdays, in order to minimise the disturbance to nearby residents. 

The contractors would also be responsible for the removal of asbestos gaskets from plant room, protecting the manholes going out into Cookham road and disposing of all material arising from works either for recycling or to suitably licensed waste disposal site. 

The proposal has received no objection from the Environmental Health Agency. 

Application proposing the building of four new dwellings on Oaklands Lane (220358)  

Bracknell News:

An application has been submitted for the proposed erection of four dwellings with associated landscaping, following the demolition of the existing dwelling in Crowthorne. 

The site, situated at Oak Apples on Oaklands Lane, is a currently vacant single residential property in an established residential area. 

The proposal is for the construction of four five-bedroom detached houses, with double garages and new access drive. 

Plan submitted for a multi-storey extension to Loddon Vale House in Wokingham (220934)  

Bracknell News:

London & Cambridge Properties Limited have proposed a plan to build a three-storey extension to the east wing of Loddon Vale House, providing two new residential dwellings. 

The site, situated on Hurricane Way in Woodley, will also see the development of private gardens, a bin store, bike store, and a total of 12 car parking spaces. 

Planning permission was originally granted for this development in April 2019, however, the applicant could not start the plans prior to its expiry so are looking to renew permission.
