PLATINUM Jubilee celebrations kick off next month with the nation coming together to commemorate the Queen.

This year, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.

Residents across Bracknell Forest will be getting involved in celebrating The Queen's historic reign in the run up to the June bank holiday weekend (June 2 to 5).

The four day celebration gives residents a chance to share their memories and stories of what they love most about the Queen.

It also means lots of street parties, garden bbq's and events to visit across the borough.

The News asked its loyal readers to share what they love most about the Queen in the run up to the celebrations.

Bracknell readers commented on how "she's the greatest Monarch" and how "graceful and dignified" she is.

Resident Krista Martin said: "That’s she’s very careful with her words. She’s also very graceful and dignified. And appears like a wonderful kind and caring person."

Chris Kaye said he loves "Her hats with all the stones on."

Barbara McMinnies said she loves 'everything' about The Queen, adding: "she our greatest monarch."

And Angela Flange Walters said what we're all thinking, "that we get bank Holidays!"

Which means many residents will be celebrating the long summer weekend.

Viki Jordan has lots to celebrate with her 40th birthday on Friday, June 3.

She said: "Loads planned over the whole weekend including a Street party on the Sunday. Can’t want."

Sue Bowden said: "Our street is having a street party. Music food games etc"

Mary Flynn will be attending South HIll Park's 'Party in the Park' with a picnic surrounded by her friends and family.

Sarah Price is "Going away to weymouth with family"

A few sadly said they will be working over the weekend, but hopefully some nice weather will make up for it!
