A CHARITY walk is set to take place in Wokingham this Sunday (May 8).

The Wokingham Walk will see families explore the countryside as they embark on either a five, 10 or 15 mile route starting and finishing in Elms Field.

And there'll be an accessible five mile route for people to do.

Supported by Wokingham Lions Club, the annual event is back for its eighth year.

The family-friendly walk raises funds for local charities with recent examples inclduing Thames Valley Air Ambulance, First Days, Me 2 Club, Share abd Alexander Devine Children's Hospice.

The organiser of the event said there are currently around 250 people signed up so far and he is hoping to get over 300 in total.

Registrations are open all the way up until 10.30am on the day.
