In celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, The Lexicon has confirmed it's line-up of entertainment throughout May and June.

From June 1 to June 5, Bracknell’s shopping region will be adorned with bunting and regalia displayed throughout Braccan Walk.

Already the steps in Bond Square have been adorned proudly with the emblem for this historic event.

To open the event on June 1, the Lexicon will be holding a Platinum version of the Lexicon’s Proms hosted by BBC Berkshire presenter Bridgitte Tetteh.

The aim of the Lexicon Jubilee Proms is to bring the community together with a rousing mix of live music, dance performances and overall celebrations.

On the evening of Thursday, June 2, Union Square will be lit up with the Platinum Jubilee Beacon in conjunction with The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says: “We’re delighted to be able to mark The Queen’s 70-years of service, with a range of community activities.

“We believe that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to get together at The Lexicon to both celebrate and reflect on this historic occasion.”

In an initiative set up by Bracknell Forest Council, members of the community are being asked to share their own encounters and memories about HRH The Queen. This will become a lasting video celebration, which will be available for everyone to view in Princess Square from June 1, 2022.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council says:   “With the Borough’s close proximity to the Royal Family, so many of us have stories and memories to share.   The Joyful Jubilee Studio is a fabulous community led tribute to HRH The Queen.

“The celebrations will run across the borough, more details to follow. This really is a chance for communities to get together and celebrate this joyous event.”
