A HEAVY police presence was spotted in an underpass earlier today after it was cordoned off recently.

Passers by reported seeing three police cars next to the London Road, Bracknell underpass on the Eastern roundabout.

On Easter weekend, police cordoned off the underpass after a woman was raped. The cordon was lifted by Tuesday morning (April 19).

Thames Valley Police confirmed the large presence spotted earlier today (April 23) is for an unrelated reason.

The force said officers stopped a man in the underpass under Section 23 of the misuse of drugs act.

Adding: "This proved a negative search and the male was allowed on his way."
