It’s been another busy week of new development applications and planning approvals across Bracknell and Wokingham. 

In Bracknell Forest, a plan has been approved to convert a staff accommodation building into a children’s nursery at Lambrook School. Whilst a plan to build a detached building containing a hydro-therapy pool for a disabled resident has been submitted. 

Meanwhile in Wokingham, a plan has been approved to build a 6.8 metre high slide at Woodford Park in Woodley. Whilst a plan has been submitted to build a two-storey extension and car port following the demolition of the existing garage.

Conversion of a residential dwelling to a children’s nursery (21/01134/FUL)

An application has been approved which will see the conversion and extension of a restricted use residential dwelling, known as Little Barn, to form a children's nursery at Lambrook school. 

Lambrook School is located in Winkfield Row, in Bracknell, within 52 acres of grounds and playing fields. 

The development site is also located within the main campus of buildings in the centre of the school. The building is a vacant two storey dwelling, previously used as staff accommodation, which the school no longer has use for. 

The development comprises of a single storey rear extension to an existing building, which will provide an open-plan nursery play area with four toilet and hand basin facilities, plus a kitchen area and staff workroom space. The internal play area of 62 sqm will cater for a maximum of 26 children.

Proposal to build a new hydrotherapy pool (22/00190/FUL) 

Bracknell News:

A plan has been submitted which proposes the erection of a single storey detached outbuilding to provide a hydrotherapy pool for a disabled resident. 

The submission outlines the design of a therapeutic facility at a residential address in Winkfield for the applicant's daughter, who suffers from cerebral palsy. 

The building, located at the end of the rear garden, would be clad in facing brickwork to match the main house.  

The design proposed is for a 6m x 3m x 1.2m deep pool, with adjacent areas to contain gym equipment, toilet facilities and space for a mobile hoist.

Approved application for the installation of a 6.8 metre children's slide (220770) 

Bracknell News:

A plan has been approved to build a 6.8 metre polyethylene slide in Woodford Park in Woodley. 

The proposal required planning approval as it is nearly three metres over the height allowed under the General Permitted Development Order. 

The unit will be situated adjacent to an existing play area and skate park as part of the council’s ‘destination’ play area project. 

The area is expected to open later this year.

Proposed two storey side extension and erection of car port in Finchampstead (221161) 

Bracknell News:

A plan has been submitted for a two storey side extension and erection of car port, following the demolition of an existing garage in Finchampstead. 

The site is located on the busy Nine Mile Ride within the Finchampstead Settlement Policy Boundary. 

To the South is the busy Nine Mile Ride and the established entrance to the dwelling. To the West is a domestic bungalow used as a meeting hall and beyond is Tomlinson Drive. To the North is the Garden laid to lawn with a neighbouring house with a garden beyond. 

A consultation period before a decision will be decided began on Aprill 22, which will end on May 13.
