A viral TikTok video has named Bracknell as one of the worst places in the south of England – but not everyone agrees.

A video which has been viewed more than 1.6 million times features the town in a list of the “worst places in the south of England” – alongside the likes of High Wycombe, Dartford, Bury St Edmunds and Sittingbourne.

The TikTok video, which was posted last month, has been liked nearly 65,000 times, but not everyone in the comments agreed with Bracknell being named on the list.

Despite harsh criticism, Bracknell has a lot going for it with a lovely shopping centre and gorgeous forests to walk in.

Huge strides have been made to overhaul the town centre, with The Deck being built and new bars and restaurants helping it to thrive – and we certainly think there is plenty to shout about.

Here are some of the best things about Bracknell (in our opinion):

The Lexicon and it's great events - Bosses of The Lexicon love to entertain families during the school holidays, hosting one of the largest dinosaur displays and now an immense interactive water event. Not forgetting how much it has improved as a town since it's regenaration with a fantastic range of shops to suit every kind of customer.

Stunning scenery and natural beauty - Bracknell prides itself for having lovely forests to walk around in. There's Swinley Forest, Lily Hill Park, Mill Park and Bucklers Park in Crowthorne.

Brilliant independent bars, cafes and restaurants - You can support local businesses in Bracknell like Al Crepes and Cafe, who serves up delicious pancakes, or visit Ziggy' café - who need your support more than ever. You've got places like Den of Bracca and the fantastic guys at The Boot, who serve authentic Italian food with a friendly smile.

Great for jobs - Bracknell is a great place to work with big name businesses offering residents fantastic job prospects. Marc Brunel-Walker, Bracknell Forest Council’s economic development boss, told the News he thinks there are a number of reasons businesses choose to come to the town, including: Being close to Heathrow and London, the availability of Bracknell Forest’s “excellent” schools, leisure facilties and green spaces, a high-skilled workforce and the impact of The Lexicon and the shops and restaurants on offer in the town centre
