A team of volunteers welcomed local councillors to Bracknell’s new pop-up food bank this month.
With the rise in the cost of living and concerns over food waste coming to a head, their twin objectives are summed up in its strapline: Caring More, Wasting Less.
The project was launched in January when volunteers noticed to collect short-dated food from local shops and supermarkets. This is a non-referral service where anyone in need can come along and take what is available.

James Sunderland MP, his agent Gerry Barber and local Councillors Alvin Finch, Jennie Green and Sandra Ingham visited SHARE Bracknell on March 4. They were able to witness how the pop-up stall has been helping the community and the environment.
The pop-up is run out of St Andrews Church on Priestwood Court Road on Friday between 1 and 3:30pm.
