We have rounded up some of the biggest stories from Bracknell this week, just in case you missed them.

1. Mum wins £3,500,000 mansion in Ascot in Omaze prize draw

Bracknell News:

A NEW mum has won her dream mansion in Ascot as part of the Omaze million pound house draw.

Becca Pott, 32, and her husband Ben paid £10 for the ticket which helps raise vital funds for hte charity.

The couple bagged the stunning five-bedroom house worth £3,500,000, which has been frequently advertised on TV.

Becca, who is on maternity leave from her job as a finance analyst gave birth to her first child Ava last summer.

Her husband Ben, 32 is an accountant and they've been have been married for two years.

They currently live in their two-bedroom flat in Leyton, East London, which they bought in 2017. The family have two pet cats - Winston Purchill and Leondaro Dicatrio.

2. Gypsy millionaire calls out Jimmy Carr for derogatory joke

'TV’s gypsy millionaire’ has called out Jimmy Carr to explain his reasons for a 'derogatory joke' where he suggested the genocide of half-a-million gypsies in the holocaust was a ‘positive’.

The joke, made on his latest comedy special on Netflix, has been met with a huge backlash after families who mourn the memory of their ancestors said it went too far.  

In his ‘joke’, Carr suggests that "nobody talks about the positives" of the Holocaust in reference to the 500,000 deaths of Roma, Sinti and travellers at the hands of the Nazis. 

Now, local businessman Alfie Best Senior, who is the father of Absolutely Ascot star Alfie Best jnr, has slammed the 'abusive' comment.

Alfie Best snr commented: “I’m quite a pragmatic sort of person and I believe a joke is a joke, but the problem is I don’t think there is anything that warrants [joking about] the genocide of the gypsies.”

3. Revealed: The face of the IT-boffin drug-dealer who would boast about cocaine

Bracknell News:

This is the face of the IT-star turned drug-dealer who was locked up for years last week. 

The News reported the sentencing of Daniel Chapman after he was convicted of supplying cannabis, xanax, cocaine, oxycotine, MDMA and tramadol. 

The 30-year-old was also guilty of the importation of MDMA from abroad. 

And now for the first time, the News can reveal the face of the dealer who created his own drugs brand. 

Chapman, of Wayland Close, set up the ‘Dead Lean Team’ brand and would text customers with messages such as ‘Frosty the Snowman is back’ to indicate he was selling cocaine.

4. Bracknell underpass attack: Boy robbed and Gucci bag stolen

A TERRIFYING robbery saw a boy robbed whilst walking to town with his friend. 

At 2.20pm on Sunday, February 6, two 14-year-old boys were walking from Bracknell train station to the underpass towards the Lexicon Shopping Centre when two men were walking in front of them.

The men stopped but the victim and his friend carried on.

Police said the robber grabbed the boy's face from behind demanding his Gucci designer bag.

Bracknell News:

As the victim resisted he was hit in the back of the head and had his bag taken from him along with some Hugo Boss aftershave and other personal items.

The robbers then ran away from the scene.

The victim suffered a minor injury to his right eye and swelling to his forehead, but did not require hospital treatment.

5. Brakenhale School: Ofsted respond to parents calls for inspection

OFSTED has responded to parents' calls for an early inspection at a school in Bracknell.

It comes after claims revealed how students are reportedly being 'poorly treated' at the school in Rectory Lane.

Last month, worried parents said they were 'preparing to pull' their children out of Brakenhale School after claiming their son's and daughter's are being treated 'appallingly'.

A dad described how his two children come home starving hungry because there is not enough time to buy food.

He told the News: "The school has become rotten to its core and I massively regret sending my children to Brakenhale. They and their friends are extremely unhappy and I can foresee a mass exodus if this despicable abuse is not stopped."
